NEWS..Maubos man ang tinig ni Yeng
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeng attains her dreams
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SINCE she was crowned the Grand Star Dreamer of the first season of "Pinoy Dream Academy," Yeng Constan-tino had a lot of reasons to be thankful.
That explains the title of her debut album, a 10-track collection, titled "Salamat." Released by Dream Music (an imprint of Star Records), the album is Yeng’s way of thanking the people who helped her get to where she is today.
In fact, that is the very thing the title track is about. As most people know, Yeng is a prolific songwriter and she wrote many songs during her stint as a scholar. One of them is "Salamat," a thank you note to her many fans and fan clubs including the Churvers and the Yeng Speak Society.
Proof of Yeng’s exceptional talent as a songwriter is that she wrote most of the record herself. "She wrote around 60% of the songs," says Jon Ilagan, Manager of Dream Big Productions, the company that handles not only her career, but those of her fellow "Pinoy Dream Academy" graduates as well.
The album only includes one cover—her take on the Freddie Aguilar classic "Bulag, Pipi at Bingi," a song she sang on the show to thunderous applause. The album also includes songs written by the following: One Alvin Gonzales ("Pangarap Lang," a finalist of the Dream Songwriting Competition); fellow graduates Davey Langit ("Cool Off") and her best friend in the Academy RJ Jimenez ("If We Fall in Love," also the theme song for the Koreanovela "Princess Hours").
One track sees her collaborating with Cebalo—a band formed by fellow graduates Davey, Panky Trinidad, Yvan Lambatan and Eman Abatayo.
Says Jon of her songwriting ability, "She writes very meaningful songs. Matindi ang pinaghuhugutan niya."
Yeng has been through a lot, primarily because her family is not well-off. In fact, the house that they lived in before she joined "Pinoy Dream Academy" was to be demolished last November because they were only squatting on the property. That is another reason why she is thankful for winning — among her prizes was a condo unit from G.A. Towers, so now they have a place to live.
She also won a brand-new Suzuki PAV eight-seater family wagon, but ironically, no one in her family can drive.
Ultimately, her most valuable prize was that her music career got a second lease on life. Before "Pinoy Dream Academy," she was all set to give up her dream of singing in favor for a real job.
Now, with the release of "Salamat," Yeng will surely have more reasons to be thankful.

Yeng Constantino babaing Ogie Alcasid
By: Dinno Erece
Yeng Constantino
Daily Insider
The grand winner of Pinoy Dream Academy, Yeng recently turned 18 lang last Dec. 4, nasa ‘school’ pa yata sila noon. For winning the top honor, Yeng got a cool P1 million pesos cash, a condo unit and a car na pinalitan agad ng isang van.
Bukod doon, may extra fifty thousand pesos pa siya as payment ng Star Cinema for her song Hawak Kamay na ginamit sa movie na Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo at nanalo ring Best Festival Song.
Nagsimula rin si Yeng bilang part of a band the same way that Ogie started with a choral, ang Kundirana.
Ngayon, ang balak ni Yeng, siya lahat ang mag- compose ng mga kakantahin niya, just like Ogie and if other singers ask her to compose one for them, she would gladly do so rin, just like Ogie pa rin.
Si Ogie lang kasi ngayon ang male singer who composes his own songs. Ganito rin ang binabalak ni Yeng dahil more than singing, she loves composing more.

YENG, pinag-aagawan nina RJ at Jay-R

RATED A Ni Aster Amoyo

Has success already changed Yeng Constantino?
The Pinoy Dream Academy grand winner clarifies issues against her.
Melba Llanera | Thursday, February 15, 2007
Dati nga, kumikita lang ako ng P250 a night, three sets, 30 to 40 songs.
So focus muna kami on our dreams.

Yeng Constantino being courted by Jay-R Siaboc?
Dinno Erece | Thursday, February 15, 2007
Jay-R reportedly sent flowers and chocolates to Yeng's new house on Valentine's day.
Ex-Pinoy Dream Academy scholars Yeng Constantino and Jay-R Siaboc seem to have developed special feelings for each other after being constantly together.
Photo: Noel Orsal & Ruel Mendoza
Yeng turned 18 last December 4.
That time din ay mas close si Yeng kay RJ Jimenez samantalang si Jay-R naman ay nagkaroon ng short-lived romance with Iya Ginez. Jay-R and Iya broke up after PDA.
Paglabas ng final six PDA scholars—Yeng RJ, Ronnie Liang, Panky Trinidad, Irish Fullerton, and Chad Perlata—although walang ginagawang team-up sa anim, na incidentally ay match-up naman dahil there are three boys and three girls, mayroong nakakapansin sa closeness nina Yeng and Jay-R.
This was further bolstered by an eyewitness report last February 13 sa backstage ng Aliw Theater during the Valentine concert of Christian Bautista and Rachelle Ann Go, kung saan sina Yeng at Jay-R ang special guests. Reportedly, kung gaano ka-sweet on stage sina Christian and Rachelle, who will celebrate their second anniversary this month, ganoon din daw ka-sweet backstage sina Yeng and Jay-R.
Nakatakdang umalis ng bansa sina Yeng at Jay-R kasama sina Ronnie, Irish, Panky, at Chad Peralta starting next month papuntang Japan and by July sa United States.

Yeng Constantino gets her wish
By Ruel J. Mendoza
Life will never be the same again for Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Dreamer Yeng Constantino. After winning the ABS-CBN reality show last December, so many changes have happened in her life that she can’t simply imagine these things are actually for real.
Last month, Yeng received the key to a condominium unit at the Globe Asiatique on Edsa in Mandaluyong City, just next to the MRT Boni Avenue station.
Present during the turnover was Globe Asiatique president Delfin Lee who personally gave Yeng a tour of her fully furnished, three-bedroom unit. It was perfect timing because the house Yeng’s family was occupying in Rizal was bulldozed as part of the administration’s efforts to clear government land of squatters.
In Tagalog, Yeng said, “We were squatting on the land and we couldn’t do anything when the government wanted it cleared of squatters, I’m just too glad this condo came to us at the time we lost our house. Now my whole family has a place to stay. I can’t thank Pinoy Dream Academy any less. Without the chance I have been given, my family would have been out in the streets.”
Located at the 27th floor of Globe Asiatique, Yeng said that the location of the condo was just perfect for her since most of her work will be in Quezon City. She will be with her parents Joselito and Susan Constantino and her other siblings while they scout for a new apartment.
“I’m the youngest, so my parents are very protective,” Yeng said. “Papa works at Ateneo de Manila University where he’s a librarian. This is a bit far from his place of work. My mom likes it here because she wants to see if I’d be okay. Papa has bought a lot in Rizal, and once we have built a house on it, they’re going back there.”
Brand-new van
Yeng also received her other prize from PDA: a Silver Suzuki APV eight-seater family car.
“It’s just right for my big family,” she said. “We now have a car and we can all go together when I have singing engagements.”
For her and at her very young age—she’s only 18—things have happened so fast that she has yet to comprehend every bit of it.
One day she was just a simple girl with a dream of becoming a singer. Now she’s a millionaire with a career to face for many years to come. She recently launched her debut album under Star Records and her hit single “Hawak-Kamay” won as Best Movie Theme Song in the recent Metro Manila Film Festival 2006 for the movie Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo.
Does Yeng still have dreams to fulfill?
“I have lots of dreams for myself and my family,” she smiled. “I want to finish school. I’d like to earn a college degree. But that has been put on the sidelines as of now, because my career in show business is my top priority.
“I’m simply making good use of what God has gifted me [with]. I want to write more songs for everyone. I want to share my talent with them. And I like to tell everyone that dreams can come true. Just be determined and always believe in what you can do.”

ON THE PROWL
By Amiel Martin Cabanlig
‘Dreamers’ wear Penshoppe
IT was another fun sortie to the Queen City of the South when Penshoppe played the generous host to a razzmatazz of society and entertainment writers and columnists. Billeted in the heart of Cebu’s sprawling metropolis, we all had a fun get-together as the fashion brand proudly presented its Penshoppe Dream Honors List, a group of young men and women who are achievers in their own right. Meet the brand’s new image models who are not just pretty faces but young ones driven by excellence and an inner fire to win. They are models of a different breed with styles all on their own. They are everything that the brand is all about.
Josephine Constantino, 18, knows exactly why she is a winner. “Determination! I’ve always wanted to do this, to be here.” Charming and adorable Yeng knows she is unique and takes full of advantage of it. “I know I’m different from other musicians, and I will remain to be so. After all, paano ako sisikat kung may kapareha [how will I become famous if I’m like everyone else]?” With a clear vision of her future, this “emotional rocker,” remains to be just a girl humming while strumming her guitar off-stage.
Eduardo Siaboc Jr., 19, can attest that patience and humility are the keys to success. Cute and lovable Jay-R started helping his family at an early age using his now famous voice. But he didn’t stop there. His eyes were constantly open to new things. Playing the guitar and drums—bring it on! As he aptly puts it: “Pa extra-extra, pa-jam-jam. That’s how I learned.” Slowly but surely and with his feet firmly planted on the ground, he amazed the world with his quiet strength, innate Cebuano charm and awe-inspiring talent. It is truly wonderful that finally, the spotlight is on him today.
Ronnie Liang, 21, can give great advice on winning. Like first off, you have to go through a lot of losing. But this attractive and smart guy will also be the first to tell you that a winner does not blink, budge or falter through and despite his losses. He stands up and carries on with his chin up. Distance, rejection and harsh criticism are parts of the game. What a winner does is master the game and immerses himself in it. Versatility is what has made Ronnie last through good times and bad. Today, as he shines and savors the sweet smell of success, the world knows that he truly deserves it.
Mariangela Soliel Trinidad, 20, is feisty and very pretty. She is a scene-stealer even before she even sings. And when she does, it’s an entirely awesome scene. Being true to herself is indeed Panky’s drawing power: “Kung anong nakikita nyo sa akin, ako yun [What you see is what you get]. I don’t hide stuff.” She also believes that a little mystery won’t hurt. As long as behind the strong personality is a good heart, she is determined to touch people’s lives through her music.
Richard Edward Peralta, 21, wants to be remembered as one who lived his dreams and turned down no challenges. That’s probably why handsome and brawny Chad epitomizes the world “balance.” Although raised in Australia, this Manny Paquiao fanatic is proud of his Filipino roots and no nonsense pursuits. “There is something in me . . . this creativity . . . this passion. It’s in my blood.” He looks forward to the future with the same sense of balance that got him where he is.”
Fatima Irish Fullerton, 23, is proud of the way her mom has instilled Filipino values in her. The results are remarkable for this gorgeous Filipino American has bloomed into a family-oriented and full-fledged Filipino-speaking winner. All this with her outgoing nature and love for travel has contributed to her strong nature. “You can even pursue your musical dreams, attend college and be a waitress at the same time.” Take this from Irish: Anything is possible.
Yeng, Jay-R, Ronnie, Panky, Chad and Irish are examples of the great possibilities that can be had when one believes and persists on making one’s dreams come true. Watch them shine as Penshoppe puts the spotlight on these dreamers.

Prior to this, nagbigay na ang PDA 1st runner-up ng bulaklak sa dalaga noong Valentine’s Day with matching chocolates.

Prior to this, nagbigay na ang PDA 1st runner-up ng bulaklak sa dalaga noong Valentine’s Day with matching chocolates.

Title: Salamat
Artist: Yeng Constantino
Label: Star Records
Released:
Number of Tracks: 10
Titik Pilipino Album Review by Ginnie Faustino-Galgana
For self-confessed rocker, Yeng Constantino can croon, albeit with the edge of a rocker. This winner of the Pinoy Dream Academy lead an arduous journey to get to this album. Perhaps it's not the long and thorny road most traditional artists went through, but Yeng obviously worked hard for her craft, and under the scrutiny of a worldwide audience at that.
It's not surprising that she did win the contest. She has the talent, and it is obvious even with just hearing her songs. She poses as the edgier version of Kitchie Nadal. She's not a Kitchie, mind you. Yeng is Yeng the rocker, primarily. This album attests to that.
For the older generation, think of her a cross between Sampaguita and Coritha. At least her songs sound like it. She wrote most of the songs and the influence of her predecessors are there, Kitchie included. Thankfully, for a rocker, Yeng's songs are not the explosive kind -- not too noisy. It's still up there in terms of decibel ratings. But not all the songs can make your ears ring -- quite a refreshing change from the usual all-noise rock bands swarming the stages of the city.
Yeng breathes new life to Sanffu Rigor's Bulag, Pipi at Bingi, a representative of the 70's rock era in the country. The result is a wake-up call to the beauty of the 70's music. More revivals like this are well-deserved and very welcome.
Of course, Yeng siganture hit, Hawak Kamay, caps the album, as if to remind listeners how she got to this point in her career. Sing away, Yeng!

Up-Close: Yeng Constantino
Josephine "Yeng" Constantino
Pinoy Dream Academy, Grand Star Dreamer
A new addition to ABS-CBN's roster of stars, this 18-year old from Rizal will rock the house down with her outstanding pipes. Yeng also showcased her song-writing talent with "Hawak Kamay," an undisputed hit in the country today, topping almost every existing radio chart in the Philippines.
What's in it for Yeng now that she took home the distinction of being the 1st ever Grand Star Dreamer of Pinoy Dream Academy? We cannot be certain at this point, but with the help of her growing fanbase, she may be off to a plentiful career soon.
But before looking ahead, let's take a closer peek at this girl's songs and album cuts that have blown away avid viewers of ABS-CBN's Pinoy Dream Academy.
There's no denying that "Hawak Kamay" immediately grabbed many by the heart with its passionate and truthful lyrics. Yeng supposedly wrote this song for a very close cousin of hers who lost hope, and that hand-in-hand they can go through all of life's hardships.
True to its meaning, many of us experience the same. The minute I heard the lines of this song, I knew it was going to bring home the bacon--and sure I wasn't mistaken. I just heard from forum boards (of which Yeng is the talk of the town lately, by the way) that "Hawak Kamay" was chosen to become a theme song for a movie (Is it for Judy Ann's Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo? I'm not quite sure.), great job Yeng!
Yeng is also the voice behind "Pangarap Lang," a potential hit. In this track (found in Pinoy Dream Academy Originals Vol. III), Yeng shows her rockstar-self, similar to female lead vocals of our premiere bands today (e.g., Moonstar88).
Another cut to be enjoyed by Yeng's avid supporters is her duet with co-dreamer RJ Jimenez (who is interestingly paired with Yeng inside the academy) entitled "If We Fall in Love." Yeng's vocals are soothing, calm, and easy to listen to. Sadly, RJ Jimenez does quite an unimpressive performance in the song, almost struggling with hitting his notes. I'd even prefer Yeng singing this song by herself. Now that would be a delight.
Let's hope there's more of Yeng Constantino in the coming months and years, as her voice is sure to stick to the hearts of many. Like her duet with RJ says, we have fallen in love with this grand star dreamer. Best wishes to you, Yeng!

Sarah, Rica, and Yeng to star in the remake of "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas"
Isasabak na rin kasi sila sa acting and from sources close to the group of singers, isang soap ang gagawin nila—the remake of the drama-musical movie nina Sharon Cuneta, Dina Bonnevie, and Cherie Gil na Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas.
Earlier, it was supposed to be Sarah, Yeng, and Rachelle Ann Go.
The last time nakausap ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) si Rachelle prior to her Valentine concert with boyfriend Christian Bautista, nabanggit nga ni Rachelle that she is being offered a soap opera bukod pa sa unang pelikula na gagawin niya for Regal Films.
We were also told na aalisin ang pangalan ni Rachelle sa cast dahil baka mapunta sa kanya ang papel ni Cherie na isang kontrabida so she was replaced by Rica. Sarah is expected to play the role of Sharon while Yeng will play the role of Dina.
Sarah was also slated to sana the remake of Sharon's first movie, ang Dear Heart, with former husband Gabby Concepcion.
Nagsisimula pa lang ang workshops nina Yeng and the other PDA at may Japan at US tours pa sila, ganun din si Sarah na may US concert with the champions, so hindi pa alam kung kailan sisimulan ang Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas.
Si Rica, may bago nang show, another Viva remake—ang Palimos ng Pag-ibig that also starred Dina, just like Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas.
Ang theme song na ginamit dito ay siya ring theme song na originally sung by Sharon Cuneta in the movie she starred in.

Review:
Salamat
Salamat
Artist: Yeng Constantino
Record Label: Star Records
Released: 2007
4.5 out of 5 stars!
Thankful, this is what Yeng Constantino, Grand winner of the first ever season of Pinoy Dream Academy, wishes to extend to her fans. We, too, are thankful for her arrival.
What's amazing about Yeng's debut album under Star Records is that 7 of the 10 equally ingenious tracks are self-penned by this multi-talented artist. One song entitled, "If We Fall in Love" was originally a duet with co-dreamer RJ Jimenez, but has since been converted as a solo for this album. Yeng also pays tribute to the father of OPM, Ka Freddie Aguilar, with her remake of the nostalgic "Bulag, Pipi, at Bingi." Yeng truly hits home.
Starting off with "Salamat," a song truly dedicated to her many fans and supporters, Yeng delivers with placidity beyond compare. Not only does the song possess a beautiful tune, but it also reaches deep with its heart-warming lyrics. The sincerity in this girl's heart is poured all-out for this song.
Enough senti, moving on to the hip "Away Bati," which is still, yes, composed by hers truly. Encouraging listeners to jam to the amazing beat, this can undoubtedly become a hit to many avid rock listeners today.
Why does "Cool Off" sound eerily like Kitchie Nadal's first solo hit, "'Wag na 'Wag Mong Sasabihin"? I initially thought this song was another one of those ripoffs that later became undeserving hits, but when Yeng busts into the chorus, she reclaims the identity of this song as her own.
Another Yeng Constantino-penned song, "Time In," is a collaboration with Yeng's co-dreamers, Panky, Davey, Yvan, and Emman, who incidentally formed the new band, CEBALO. Casual yet fun lyrics, a jammin' tune, and amazing vocals make up this beautiful cut.
Make way for a beautiful remake of Ka Freddie Aguilar's "Bulag, Pipi, at Bingi." Yeng fills her rendition with so much emotion and character that she channels it to her listeners very well. The song may have brought back the old memories of Yeng's humble past. The tune-play and prolonged note at the end gives the song an eerie and dark finish.
Yeng's self-composed English cut, "Just Can't Say," drifts slightly away from the intense rock and focuses more on emotion and meaning.
"Awit ng Pangarap," also composed by Yeng Constantino, was chosen as the theme song of Pinoy Dream Academy. The song is inspiring and has a new flavor to its tune and mix. It's rare to hear songs of this caliber to be chosen as theme songs to ABS-CBN's shows.
Taking a full break off of rock music, Yeng renders a solo version of a former duet with RJ Jimenez entitled, "If We Fall in Love," which became the theme song of ABS-CBN's Koreanovela, Princess Hours. Frankly speaking, the song sounds twice as beautiful as a solo cut rather than a collaboration with RJ Jimenez, who struggled greatly with the key in the duet version. Not only does this song sound great, but it is also a testimony of Yeng's versatility as a singer.
"Pangarap Lang" is a hip and enjoyable track, with it's creative lyrics and tune. It comes close to the feel of Eraserhead's "Overdrive," except it is graced by the sultry voice of a female rocker-diva.
There is no better way to end this album but with Yeng's first-ever massive hit, "Hawak Kamay," which has enjoyed extremely frequent airplay even while Yeng was still inside the academy. What makes this song different yet tremendously appealing is its empathetic lyrics and ingenious yet easy-to-learn tune. The song's album version is one of three mixes, the other two coming from the Pinoy Dream Academy album and as a theme song to Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos' movie, Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo, respectively. The version of "Hawak Kamay" in the album is inclined to rock, while the one in the PDA album sounds more acoustic, and the version for the movie, more appropriately as a ballad.
Yeng is truly a gold find of 2006 in our struggling OPM industry, because not only is she a great singer, but she is also a fabulous composer. Let's hope ABS-CBN and Star Records take care of this rare find and give her more opportunities to enrich her budding career. On a different note, Yeng should also slowly build her personality, character, and her hosting abilities to improve her marketability. But that aside, Yeng's undisputed talent is never to be left unnoticed.

Yeng Constantino, Kontrabida sa Soap
Now we know why pinag-a-acting workshop na ang apat sa PDA scholars na sina Yeng Constantino, Jay-R Siaboc, Ronnie Liang and Irish Fullerton.
The third role, that of Cherrie's might surprise you.

Yeng and Sarah pit acting and singing talents in "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas"
Yeng and Sarah topbill the remake of Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas with Rica Peralejo.
Dinno Erece | Saturday, February 24, 2007
Originally starring Sharon Cuneta, Dina Bonnevie and Cherie Gil, it will now star Sarah na gaganap sa character na ginampanan ni Sharon, si Yeng for the Dina character, and Rica Peralejo for the Cherie character.
Ayaw nga kasing paganapin si Rachel ng kontrabida role as this would also have been her first regular acting job, baka raw ma-typecast agad na kontrabida.
For this, Yeng, together with three other Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) scholars Jay-R Siaboc, Ronnie Liang, and Irish Fullerton are undergoing acting workshop ngayon. Kasali rin kasi ang tatlo sa said show.
Bagama't naku-compare lately sina Sarah and Yeng at ini-intriga sila sa sale ng kanilang albums nang pareho itong mag-gold in its first week of release—although naka-platinum na agad ang Salamat: Yeng Constantino from Dream Records after its second week-hindi pinapansin ni Yeng ang intriga sa kanila ni Sarah at bagkus ay excited pa nga siya.
Idol niya kasi si Sarah and the thought of working with her idol titillates her. Doubly excited pa si Yeng dahil napaka-challenging agad ng kaniyang first role. Sa original movie kasi, naging lasenggera ang character ni Dina, na gagampanan ngayon ni Yeng, out of frustration nang pansumandaling nagkahiwa-hiwalay ang grupo nila nina Sharon and Cherie.
Malamang na masimulan ang Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas around May or June. Papuntang Japan next month ang anim na PDA scholars kasama sina Panky Trinidad and Chad Peralta and by April, sa United States naman. Naka schedule ding umalis si Sarah kasama ng iba pang Champions na sina Mark Bautista, Rachelle, and Christian Bautista, also for US tour.
Busy naman si Rica these days taping for her new soap Palimos ng Pag-ibig, another remake from Viva Films and also starring Dina then.

7. Who came bearing flowers for Yeng?
You expected JR Jimenez to give Yeng Constantino flowers on Valentine’s Day, right? No, it was Jay-R Siaboc who came carrying a bouquet as magical workings of heavenly bodies have them working together. The dinner she planned with family members in the condo she won in Pinoy Dream Academy did not push through. She told Buzzstation during a one-on-one chat that she would welcome anybody bearing flowers who would drop by. JR, the more vocal pursuer, was a no-show. Jay-R, the silent admirer, was concrete in his action. In fact, he gave her more flowers plus Kisses the following day.
Jay-R in love with Yeng? Mostly likely! But there’s a reason for the lovey-dovey act than what he is willing to confess. They are being paired as a love team! Yeng and Jay-R will play lovers in the Sana’y Wala ng Wakas remake by ABS-CBN for the primetime slot. Sarah Geronimo is essaying the Sharon Cuneta role, and Yeng, the Dina Bonnevie part. But as far as Yeng is concerned, this pairing is for the small screen only. She agreed with her dad that her priority is career and anything that sidetracks her should be put aside. Her over-all goal is to pitch her career as a solo singer. Salamat, her debut CD under Dream Big Productions, in now a platinum performer. Plaque-awarding took place at ASAP ’07 last Sunday!

Yeng, patuloy na naglalakad sa ulap
Billy Balbastro
AFTER making it big locally, starting at the Cebu Coliseum early this month and at Clark in Pampanga later, the Final Six of the recent Pinoy Dream Academy will try foreign shores.
Grand Dreamer winner Yeng Constantino, who has her own share of individual shows in Iloilo and Midsayap (Cotabato), is excited about this since this is the first time to leave the country.
With an exciting full month – she has still to enjoy a full restful day – plus her Platinum Record Award last Sunday at ASAP 07 for her debut album Salamat, she is most interested to know how the music scene in Japan is like.
Yes, Yeng, Panky Trinidad, Irish Fullerton, Richard Peralta and the two runner-up Jay-R Siaboc and Ronnie Liang are now looking forward to their foreign stint. I was told that Jun Hirano (who’s from Japan) will join them.
They are set to have a show at Tokyo on March 1, this coming Thursday, so they will be leaving on February 28 (Wednesday). They will be coming home on March 2 for more commitments here locally.
Then in early April, the Final Six will have their US tour with seven cities in their itinerary, with an additional one if schedules permit.
Earlier set for late March, they will be leaving on April 4 (Wednesday) and they are expected to be back on April 25.
Their first show will be in San Francisco – to the delight of Irish who hails from there – on April 7. Incidentally her mom of the Yanogazo clan in Cainta is a teacher there.
The itinerary includes: San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington, Chicago and Atlantic City (the last one on April 22).
Except for Irish, this will be the first US trip for them, including Chad whose family lives in Australia.
***
Dreamers executive Jon Ilagan tells us that negotiations are also being made for show in Europe later this year. Or perhaps they can also have a second US tour to accommodate other promoters who want the show too in their cities.
Panky, Irish and Yeng – in spite of hard work and hectic schedules – are enjoying what they have – music careers.
Panky is also a member of the Cebalo (Cebu, Iloilo, Baguio) band and she is in there with Ivan Lambatan and Davey Langit from Baguio, Eman Abatayo of Iloilo. Panky, of course, is from Cebu.
The Cebalo Band has its frequent gigs, even does some recordings now for a future music album. They have a pad for them at New Manila.
Irish, 23, who used to work in a big restaurant as server back home, is quite happy with her plans to stay here, with the blessings of her parents. In fact, her mom has been here for a few months to see how she is.
But she stays with an ASAP female dancer at the El Hardin condo which is just across ABS-CBN.
The 5’7" charmer talks Tagalog well, is a conservative as a typical Pinay. She looks forward to having music album herself.
Of course, 18 year old Yeng is still walking on clouds. As she always says: "Sobrang blessed ako talaga.
And Yeng looks forward to her Japan trip. "Gusto kong makabili roon ng mga sapatos. Magaganda ang mga sapatos doon.

Sky’s the limit for Yeng Constantino
When she won the first season of Pinoy Dream Academy, 18-year-old Yeng Constantino knew she would be in for a roller- coaster ride as the first-ever Grand Star Dreamer. However, she didn’t know just how exciting said ride would be.
Since her big win, many exciting things have happened to her, not the least of which was receiving a Platinum Record Award in recognition of her performance on the charts. Bannered by the first single (and title track) Salamat, her debut solo album sold 30,000 copies a mere two weeks after its release. Such an achievement is something every musician wants, which is why Yeng was grinning from ear to ear as she thanked everyone who had a hand in her debut solo album’s success.
In addition to that, she was named the Most Promising Female Recording Artist of 2007 by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation, an award that further cemented her status as one of the music scene’s fastest-rising stars.
On the same day that Yeng received the Platinum Record Award, she shared the ASAP ’07 stage with her idol, Sarah Geronimo. She sang some of Sarah’s best-loved hits, namely “Forever’s Not Enough” and “I Still Believe In Loving You.” Meanwhile, Sarah sang “Salamat” and the fans’ favorite “Hawak-Kamay,” among others. Of the experience, Yeng had only this to say, “I am really very happy, especially because of the chance to sing duet with her.”
When asked about the rumors that she and Sarah are starring in a teleserye together, she said that she looks forward to the possibility. “Nothing definite, but I hope it pushes through.”
But that’s not all she’s looking forward to. She recently landed a solo endorsement deal with a top telecommunications company and is looking forward to shooting commercials and posing for billboard ads.
At the moment, she is juggling her hosting and performing duties on ASAP ’07 with shows at venues across the country. Recently, she performed with Cebalo (a band composed of her fellow Pinoy Dream Academy alumni Panky Trinidad, Davey Langit, Yvan Lambatan and Eman Abatayo) at Club O.
She has also been busy with various out-of-town shows, namely her Japan tour with the Headmaster’s Honor List of Six (her first out of the country gig). After Japan, they will be heading to the US for a five-city tour in April.
Her career isn’t the only thing on the upswing. Her love life is looking up as well, as rumor has it someone is setting her heart aflutter these days.
You’d think that with all of these things under her belt, she’d have no dreams left to chase. But for Yeng, that is so not the case?the ride is just beginning.

Yeng Constantino's album goes platinum
Pinoy Dream Academy's Grand Star Dreamer is named Most Promising Female Recording Artist.
By Ruel Mendoza | Monday, March 5, 2007
In just two weeks, Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino's debut solo album entitled Salamat has already reached platinum.

Yeng does not want to be compared to Kitchie and Barbie
Yeng says she is not yet worthy of the "Rock Princess" title.
Ruel Mendoza | Saturday, March 17, 2007

Good news, bad news from ‘out there’
FUNFARE By Ricardo F. Lo
Wednesday, June 6, 2007
*snipped*
And now, the happy/good news: Yeng Constantino, top graduate of the ABS-CBN reality-TV show Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) is having a show in New York in August but tickets are almost sold out. “Now I know how popular Yeng is here in the US,” said Funfare’s New York correspondent Edmund Silvestre (news editor of The Filipino Reporter). “Tita Alice and Tito Red (Martinez), producers of the show, are very, very happy. They know that Yeng is popular here but they didn’t expect her to be that popular.” With Yeng in the show are fellow PDA graduates Ronnie Liang and RJ Jimenez, Jay-R, Angelica dela Cruz and Carlo Aquino.

Open Mic: Hawak Kamay
Mike Villegas
Tuesday, May 29, 2007
Songwriting as a craft has always been near and dear to my heart. Not only because it's my bread and butter, but I firmly believe that the skill of invention (in this case, of music and of lyrics), is the utmost proof that we humans were made in the Creator's image. (A few Bible verses don't hurt either, but you get the idea.)
Years ago when I taught guitar, I always added basic music theory to my lessons, in the hopes that it would jump-start a writing binge in my students. I'd help them pick apart their favorite Eraserheads tunes chord by chord, just to help them see how Ely Buendia built the framework for "Ang Huling El Bimbo" or "Torpedo."
Wide-eyed with a newfound understanding of this magic, the kids would strum away at their guitars excitedly, with pen and paper nearby to serve as a net as they fish their imagination. Fast forward to here and now, where I write in celebration of the resurgence of Songwriting, and the long-forgotten stardom that could come with this skill. Of particular interest is the brilliance of singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino.
This young girl took a very different road to fame and fortune. Yeng is a solo singer with a unique voice, whose poignant and extremely popular songs struck a chord among millions of Filipinos young and old. She had the immense fortune of being introduced to countless families through the boob tube on a nightly basis (thanks to ABS-CBN's Pinoy Dream Academy), and though hard fought, her stardom bypassed the usual obstacles met by the traditional up and coming singer—no recording companies to woo, no slow and steady audiences to build in club gigs, no singing festivals to make a mark in. In a competition of up and coming talents, hers was arguably the least manufactured, and the hardest to fake—Yeng is a songwriter, and I think that's what won us over, and won it for her.
I was lucky to have worked with Yeng recently, when I was asked to arrange, produce and write the melody for Globe's "Kantabataan" theme song. When I found out who the talent was, I was ecstatic! I was about to co-write a Songwriting Festival's theme song, and Yeng, one of our best young composers, was singing it!
When she showed up at the recording studio (Hit Productions in Makati), she was shy and unassuming, a girl in her teens with the weight of her fame an unfamiliar burden. But behind the microphone, the sweet and soft-spoken persona gave way to a powerful and self-assured vocalist who knew her way around a rock song. She didn't need much in the way of guidance, and she was phrasing the words around her singing style, like a singer-songwriter would. Because unlike singers who grew up with the karaoke, merely mimicking the vocal parts verbatim, a songwriter would normally just have his or her guitar as accompaniment, and thus be more flexible with her singing. Her identity as a vocalist became easier to flesh out, because she would put her own spin on the accompaniment. As a result, it was one of my most enjoyable recording experiences—the song seemed so suited to her, it sounded like she wrote it!
So thanks Yeng, and good luck! I hope your success helps bring about the end of the cookie-cutter non-talents that the big networks used to peddle to the audience, and inspires our young singers to pick up a guitar or learn to play the piano. If they never write a song, at least their singing will be improved immensely. And if they catch the muse? Then they, like Yeng, will experience the incredible highs of composing, of walking the listener hand in hand into the melodies and words of our hopes and dreams.
Hawak kamay, indeed.

‘Virgin pa po ako!’ - Yeng
June 07, 2007 05:39 PM Thursday

Yeng Constantino's first major concert to be held at the Aliw Theater
Jocelyn Dimaculangan
Wednesday, June 6, 2007
07:43 AM
Eighteen-year-old Yeng Constantino still has many goals to fulfill. The Grand Star Dreamer of Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) intends to pursue a career in music, put up a restaurant in Marikina City, and open her own band studio. These dreams might seem lofty for some but for this former resident of Montalban (now Rodriguez), Rizal, no aspiration is unreachable when you have your heart in the right place.
In her solo press con at 9501 Restaurant at the ABS-CBN compound earlier today, June 6, the singer-songwriter told PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) about her aspirations for the future.
With her first major concert entitled Rock Enroll: Yeng's Rock to School (Back to School) Concert scheduled on June 23, Yeng feels pressured but excited at the same time. The concert, which will take place at the Aliw Theater, is directed by no less than Mr. Johnny Manahan.
"May 19 prods [production numbers] po ako dito at lahat kasama ako," she points out. "Siguro po may five costume changes ako."
Her guests include Chris Cayzer, former PDA scholars Ronnie Liang and Jay-R Siaboc, Ruben Caballero and Jay Justiniani of Cuéshe, as well as Mark Tupaz of Shamrock.
NO TO HOME STUDY. The top scholar of PDA says that she prefers to enroll in a regular school instead of taking a home study course.
Yeng, already a high school graduate, openly admitted that she tried to get into college but she was unable to get into the school of her choice. "UP [University of the Philippines] po.
With values such as these—a willingness to continue her education and a passion for her chosen career—Yeng is being hailed as a good role model for the Filipino youth today.

Yeng, takot kay Piolo!
Dondon Sermino

Mula sa Dream Big Productions and ASAP Live, Rock Enroll will be directed by Johnny Manahan. Show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at Ticketworld outlets for P800, P500 and P300.

DREAM FACTORY
Mario E. Bautista
* * *
Yeng Constantino is on an unforgettable ride since she won in "Pinoy Dream Academy." She has performed overseas in Japan and the US. Her song, "Hawak Kamay," a big hit, won for her the Metro Manila Film Festival best theme song award after it was used in "Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo." Her first solo album, "Salamat," hit triple platinum. All this at 18, and there are more worlds waiting for her to conquer. But with success comes intrigues like she’s become a swellhead who is maldita and suplada to her fans. Worse, she’s said to be an unwed mother. She wants to just ignore the intrigues but we tell her she has to answer them because keeping silent means they’re true.
"I really can’t remember any incident na naring rude ako to people," she says. "Kung minsan nga, kahit kumakain ako, when they stop para magpa-picture, pumapayag agad ako. About being an unwed mother, all I can say is that virgin pa po ako. I’ve never had a boyfriend.
She remains her true self even when she performs. "Nasanay akong naka-rubber shoes and when they asked me to wear heels sa ‘ASAP,’ sablay talaga as I can’t walk, tapos natanggal pa ang takong noong isang sapatos ko kaya na-trauma tuloy akong mag-heels. But in my concert at Aliw Theater, dapat daw mag-heels ako in my number with the male champions (Jed Madela, Christian Bautista, and Erik Santos)."
Her show will be a one-of-a-kind rock concert, "Rock Enroll: Yeng’s Rock to School (Back to School) Concert," to be staged at Aliw in the CCP Complex on June 23, Saturday night. Her special guests are Jay of Cueshe, Mark of Shamrock, Michael Angelo, Chris Cayzer, and her own band, Morning Glory. She’ll be singing her hits plus songs of Alanis Morisette, Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefan and other singers. Tickets are reasonably priced from P300 to P800 only and students can get special discounts. You get four tickets and the fifth one is free.

RATED A Ni Aster Amoyo

* * *

STUDIO WHISPERS
Ethel Ramos
WHEN Yeng Constantino, "Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA)’s" first grand star winner, mounts her first big concert, she promises to do things – things that she has not done yet nor dreamt of ever doing – to impress her audience.
For example, she will wear high-heeled shoes. Probably three inches high. "Para tumangkad naman ako," she quips.
Used to wearing sneakers, Yeng relates that when her mom urged her to wear high heels that she bought for her, the singer had a hard time walking. "Dahil pagewang gewang ang paglakad ko, before I knew it, natanggal ang takong ko," she relates.
The concert will also allow Yeng to sing songs which influenced her musicality. The songs will mostly be pop and rock. She will also get to jam with some of the country’s hottest artists and bands, some of whom are her idols.
But what excites Yeng about the concert even more is the participation of her former band, Morning Glory. "My band mates are amazed at how I made it," she reveals, "I promised them I will help them, too. They are proud of me."
* * *
Songs which she composed herself, such as "Hawak-Kamay" and "Salamat," are definitely in her repertoire. "I’m at my best writing a song if something unexpected happens to me," Yeng shares. "When I wrote ‘Hawak-Kamay,’ for example, ‘di ko alam kung paano ko hahawakan ang aking emotions. At that particular moment, a favorite cousin told me aalis siya.
"I felt so sad about her decision, so much so I told her that if she had any problem, we will solve it hand in hand.
"Pero, umalis din siya. But she’s back now," she says.
The song, "Sala-mat," was made while she was inside Big Brother’s house. She was overwhel-med by the number of text votes from PDA viewers. "On our own, we could not afford that much votes," she explains. "Kaya talagang thankful ako to all those who supported me."
"Hawak-Kamay" and "Salamat" are two of the songs she hopes the audience will appreciate at the concert which is titled "Rock Enroll: Yeng’s Rock to School (Back to School) Concert."

Officially kasi as per last quarter, it has reached its second platinum sales, pero umabot na pala ito ng triple platinum.
Pero, end of this month, lilipad na naman sila papuntang Guam naman but this time, it’s just a two-day trip lang yata, balikan after their one show there.

By: Vinia Vivar
October 11, 2007 04:15 PM Thursday
That is the branding of the network. Some of them naman are known as housemates. You take away the ‘housemates’ title, it’s hard to book them, ’di ba?
“It’s because we’re able to package them as a group, as PBB housemates, then we can command more. ABS will not get into anything na madedehado ang mga taong pumapasok sa programa namin. You’d be surprised on how much they get for a newcomer.”
If you want to take a longer route, okay ’yun. You go to Star Magic, but it will take a longer time.
“Parang ano lang ’yan, eh. I look at it as parang expressway. If you want to get to Alabang, you can take the normal tollgate and be charged lesser. But if you want the Skyway, you can join the reality program like PBB or PDA,” paliwanag ni Direk.
Ang 17 talents ay na-turn-over na, including Wendy Valdez, Bea Saw, Bodie Cruz, Gee-Ann Abraham, Bruce Quebral, Saicy Aguila, Nel Rapiz, Mickey Perz, Robert Wood, Dionne Monzato and Kian Kazemi, among others.

Yeng Constantino shares her "Journey" of self-discovery
Jocelyn Dimaculangan
Wednesday, March 5, 2008
10:22 PM
Winning the reality show Pinoy Dream Academy is a journey unlike any other and Yeng Constantino is the perfect person to sum it up. Hailed as the Grand Star Dreamer of the Philippine edition of Endemol's Star Academy, Yeng took home not only cash prizes and a fully furnished condo unit but she also gained a wealth of experiences that not many singers can boast.
PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to talk on the phone with Yeng about her latest album aptly titled Journey. Last March 4, the rock star singer-songwriter was shooting a music video for her album in Makati City. Directed by Mark Anthony Ocampo, the music video will feature Yeng performing with her band, Morning Glory.
"May eight original compositions po ako dito. Two of them came from Annabelle Regalado [managing director of Star Records] tapos ‘yong isa revival ng song ng Asin na 'Himig ng Pag-ibig'. ‘Yong isa po, original composition naman ni Eman Abatayo na 'If You Go.'"
Eman is Yeng's co-scholar in Pinoy Dream Academy who hails from Iloilo.
The 12-track album Journey consists of the songs "Di Na Ganun," "What About Us," "Ikaw Lang Talaga," "Tao Lang Ako," "Pili Ka Lang," "Promise," "If You Go," "Bakit Nga Ba," "Himig ng Pag-ibig," "Why Can't You," "Tala," and "Habang Buhay."
It took Yeng one month to finish the album Journey compared to the one week it took her to finish her debut album. Her first album titled Salamat is composed of 10 tracks, seven of which are original compositions of the rocker-diva. It includes the phenomenal "Hawak Kamay" that was named as Best Theme Song in the 32nd Metro Manila Film Festival for the movie Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo.
For 2008, Yeng hopes to enroll again in school, whether a home study program or regular school, if she can find the time for it. She has yet to decide whether to take up Mass Communication or Music.
Yeng admits that she lived a very sheltered life prior to joining PDA.
Malaking bagay ‘yon [joining PDA] as my first step to independence."
When asked what best lesson she learned during the first school term of PDA, Yeng did not hesitate to say that former Headmaster Jim Paredes imparted a very valuable lesson that she will never forget.
For the second season of Pinoy Dream Academy, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab will mold the incoming batch of scholars.
Now that another batch will also go through a series of tests and training inside Pinoy Dream Academy, what advice can she give to these aspiring singers?
"Huwag silang magsasayang ng oras. Enjoy n'yo lang ang samahan ninyo kasi sobrang mami-miss n'yo ‘yan pagkatapos. Lahat ng lessons importante talaga. Mula sa voice coaching lessons hanggang dun sa physical fitness class...lahat interesante.
"May purpose kung bakit nila tinuturo yun. Magagamit ninyo talaga sa industriya. Saka yung laging sinasabi nila na ‘Set your mind to your goal.'"
After hurdling 16 weeks of relentless vocal training and exercise, the young singer proved in the end that she really set her mind to her goal—to become the first winner of Pinoy Dream Academy.
Yeng Constantino's Journey is now available in leading music stores nationwide. Star Records will formally launch her album on the March 9 episode of the noontime variety show ASAP ‘08.

Yeng dako’g utang sa iyang manager?
Saturday, March 8, 2008

Kim Chiu and Yeng Constantino not threatened by new batch of dreamers
Jocelyn Dimaculangan
Saturday, March 8, 2008
08:57 AM
Not too long ago, a young Chinese-Cebuana and a native of Rizal both dreamed of making it big in the world of showbiz and music, respectively. Today, Kim Chiu and Yeng Constantino can proudly say that, cliché as it may sound, dreams do come true.
Yesterday, March 7, ABS-CBN formally launched the start of the reality programs targeting the youth of today. Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus has started giving away 30 Dream Keys to teenagers all over the country. These coveted items signify that they have the chance to enter the PBB house once they surpass all the challenges posed by Big Brother. The 30 short listed candidates will be trimmed down until the 12 tenants of PBB Teen Edition Plus will be revealed.
If you're wondering why there's a Plus at the end of the title of the show, it refers to the addition of a new host—Luis Manzano. He will be hosting the latest edition of PBB along with Toni Gonzaga, Mariel Rodriguez, and Bianca Gonzalez.
On the other hand, Pinoy Dream Academy is sporting a new logo and expecting a new set of aspiring singers who will be given the opportunity to train under talented singers and develop their vocal skills inside the Academy. It will be headed by a new Headmaster in the person of Ryan Cayabyab, who replaces Jim Paredes.
Now that a new batch of dreamers will be joining the same contest that gave them fame and success, do Kim and Yeng feel threatened by the impending competition?
Yeng answered by saying that it is up to her to ensure her staying power in the industry.
Dapat po talaga masaya kami," said Yeng.
For her part, Kim says, "Lahat naman po ng tao may sariling chance sa buhay kung magiging artista sila. May kanya-kanyang chance ang tao."
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS. Jilmer Dy recalls the reasons why Kim stood out during the auditions of the reality TV show.
Parang itong taong ito would be good TV material," says the senior story editor of PBB Teen Edition Plus.
As for Yeng, she says that she had an embarrassing moment when she auditioned for PDA.
The future looks especially bright for these two female stars especially since Kim has been chosen to star in the Filipino remake of the hit Korean Tv series My Girl. The Chinese-Cebuana will also star with Gerald Anderson in Claudine Barretto's comeback TV series Maligno.
Yeng, on the other hand, has just released her second album titled Journey and is expected to join the cast of the youth-oriented show Astigs. She has been taking up acting workshops to prepare her for more challenging roles.

Yeng Constantino shares life changes and lessons learned in "Pinoy Dream Academy"
Balot Antazo
Saturday, March 8, 2008
11:13 AM
Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) had a big impact on Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino's life—the reality search opened the door to many opportunities for Yeng and brought her acclaim in showbiz. A bright future awaits her.
Tunay ngang ipinapakita ni Yeng at ng PDA na nothing is impossible when you dream big.
THE BEGINNING.
Natawa siya and ayun, pinapirma ako.

YENG CONSTANTINO, TULUY-TULOY ANG TAGUMPAY WITH "JOURNEY!"Posted 3/8/2008 3:46:26 PM by randy

Yeng Constantino prefers to stay away from money matters
Jocelyn Dimaculangan
Saturday, March 8, 2008
10:31 PM
A self-confessed Papa's girl, Yeng Constantino trusts her father Joselito to manage her finances for her.
After winning as the Grand Star Dreamer of Pinoy Dream Academy, Yeng has been facing a lot of intrigues, the latest of which is about the mismanagement of her finances. There have been reports claiming that the singer-songwriter is already bankrupt and unable to pay debts to her manager, Jay Lavilles.
The top scholar of PDA maintained that if there were financial problems, she would be the first to know about them.
Does she have an idea about the identity of the person/s spreading the rumors about the mismanagement of her finances?
Yeng narrated her cash flow for the benefit of those doubting the stability of her finances.
Does she have her own bank account?
She says that the money she gives to her father is for the payment of their bills and for the construction of their house. Yeng is helping her family construct their own home in Rizal to replace the one that was demolished in the past. The rock musician even shared her blessings for her relatives by giving away food for Noche Buena. However, she does get to keep the payment for her guestings such as Homeboy, Boy and Kris, and ASAP ‘08. She only splurged on herself by purchasing a purple-colored Ibañez guitar.
Does she know of any enemies who want to ruin her reputation?
"Hindi ko po alam basta rock ‘n roll lang po ako," was Yeng's last words before rushing off to the Aliw Theater to perform her signature songs for a concert of Ballet Manila.

SANGA-SANGANDILA Ni Veronica R. Samio Sunday, March 9, 2008

“Once in a lifetime experience lang ’yan, kaya i-todo n’yo na.

YENG: I’M BOYISH, BUT NOT TOMBOY
YENG Constantino is the winning Grand Dreamer in the first Pinoy Dream Academy. “I have so much to be thankful for since then,” she says. “I won a condo unit for me and my family at hindi na kami squatter. I had my own album na naka-triple platinum and I had my own solo concert.
Tapos, ilang beses akong nakapunta sa States to do shows there. And to think, when I took the audition, muntik na akong maging ‘thank you girl’ lang. Ni hindi pinatapos ni Direk Lauren Dyogi ang song ko at nag-thank you siya agad sa akin, so sabi ko naman, ‘Thank you lang po?’ Natawa siya and called me back, tapos, pinapirma na ako. Ayun, nakasali nga ako sa PDA.”
And the rest, so they say, is history. She eventually bested 19 other scholars and even won best song awards from the Metro Manila Filmfest and FAMAS for her composition, “Hawak Kamay”, that was used as the theme song of “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo”. Now, she has released her own album, “Journey”. PDA Season 2 will start in May with Ryan Cayabyab as the new headmaster.
What can she say about observations that she’s a tomboy? “I admit namang boyish ako, kasi lagi nga akong nakapantalon at rubber shoes.
What advice can she give to the next batch of scholars?
“Just be yourself, but give your best. Maging totoo lang sila and don’t pretend na they’re someone they’re not. Mas mamahalin sila ng viewers.”

Timing
Payo ni Yeng sa incoming housemates
Rowena Agilada
Nabago ang buhay
Sometime in May mag-uumpisa ang "Pinoy Dream Academy Season 2."

Yeng’s wonderful journey
If there is one thing that Yeng Constantino, would not want to be labeled as, it is being a diva. Nowadays, being a diva connotes being a prima donna and the first-ever PinoyDreamAcademy (PDA) big winner reaffirms that it is a stature she has no plans of pursuing. “I’m not against kahit na sinong diva. She continues in saying that she is just a simple girl with a lot of passion for her music and is very happy that her dreams have come true. Yeng is very thankful that she was given a chance to showcase her talents and hopes too that with the opening of the Academy this May, a dreamer like her will have his or her wishes granted.
Truly, Yeng has come a long way ever since she won as PDA’s Grand Star Dreamer in December 2006 with an album, a couple of endorsements and a TV show now under her belt. Proving that nothing has changed about the lass from Rizal, Yeng asked her Morning Glory band mates to figure in her second album titled Journey. Yeng temporarily left her band when she joined PDA with the other members (Emerson, Paul and Dennis) consent and full support. She really wanted them to be a part of her first album Salamat but due to time constraints during its recording, it just wasn’t possible. With Journey however, Yeng did not waste any time dragging the boys into the recording studio with her. Yeng is ecstatic to work with ‘her boys’ again and dreams of a solo album for MorningGlory in the near future.
Twelve-track Journey is jam packed with Yeng’s signature pop-rock sound and includes the hit Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo theme “Habambuhay”. Like in her previous album, Yeng was deeply involved in writing the songs for Journey. She confesses that majority of the songs are based on her personal experiences – from friendship, to falling in love, even getting heart broken. But when pressed to elaborate on the down side of loving, she only laughs and answers, “Basta, I’ve been through heartaches, madami!”
Journey is now available in all record bars and music stores nationwide.

Yeng Constantino, patuloy ang tagumpay sa "Journey"
Alex Datu
Thursday, March 13, 2008
04:35 PM
Maganda at tagos sa puso ang mga kantang kasama sa album na ito tulad ng "Di Na Gan'un," "Promise," "Pili Ka Lang," "Tao Lang Ako," "What about Us," Himig Ng Pag-ibig," "If You Go," "Bakit Nga Ba," "Why Can't You," at "Tala."

“Once in a lifetime experience lang yan kaya itodo niyo na.

Yeng Constantino lives the big dream
With a triple platinum debut album, sold-out solo concert, successful world tours, numerous awards and a newly released sophomore album Journey under Star Records, Pinoy Dream Academy Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino definitely got more than what she wished for and became today’s hottest and most sought-after singing-composer of her generation.
I didn’t expect things would turn out this way. When I joined PDA I only wanted to help my family and let people hear my music],” explained Yeng.
This “rakista” (rocker) from Montalban, Rizal, who took a break from her studies to give way for her older siblings, first learned about the auditions for PDA through a television plug. With the support of her family and friends, Yeng went to ABS-CBN to try her luck where she had a pretty memorable experience.
[I can’t really forget the audition because ‘Direk’ said ‘thank you even before I could finish the song. So, I asked, ‘is that all? Just thank you?’]” she hilariously recalled. “Natawa siya and ayun pinapirma ako. Kung di ko ginawa ’yun siguro di ako natanggap [He laughed and then he asked me to sign up. If I hadn’t done it I don’t know if I’d ever make it.]”
Funny and embarrassing as it may sound, that’s where it all began for Yeng. She stayed with 19 other scholars she barely knew and worked her way to the top in an intense test of skills, talent and above all, personality.
Binago talaga nung experience ko dun ang pagkatao ko [There were different kinds of characters, so I needed to be flexible. That’s what I learned from PDA. The experience changed my personality],” she confessed.
Despite strong competitions with fellow scholars Jay-R Siaboc (first runner-up) and Ronnie Liang (second runner-up), Yeng emerged as the Grand Star Dreamer mainly because of her individuality, distinct voice quality and exceptional songwriting skills—a life-changing recognition she is thankful for until now.
Yung pagkapanalo ko po kasi sa PDA ’yung talagang nagbago hindi lang ng buhay ko, pati na rin ng pamilya ko kaya po sobrang laki ng utang na loob ko sa kanila [I am very happy that they have trusted me and their appreciation for my music. My winning the PDA changed everything in me and my family. I am really very grateful to all of them],” she said.
Her newfound success and good fortune have made her the family’s breadwinner supporting her siblings’ studies.
Sobrang sarap ng feeling po na nakakatulong ka sa mga mahal mo sa buhay [I am not the only one who has a dream. Now that I have realized mine, my wish is for my parents and siblings to realize theirs. That’s why I am doing everything to help them. The feeling is overwhelming when you know you are helping other people, especially your loved ones].”
This May, PDA will return for its second season and being the academy’s first valedictorian, Yeng shares some piece of advice to future scholars.
But before the Headmaster reopens his academy for enrollment, Kuya will welcome the Filipino teens to his home once more in Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus, hosted by Toni Gonzaga, Bianca Gonzalez, Mariel Rodriguez and newest addition Luis Manzano. Don’t miss its exciting opening on Sunday, March 23 with a primer on March 16 only on ABS-CBN where you just don’t dream, you dream BIG Kapamilya!

Yeng, walang karapatang umibig!
(DONDON SERMINO)

’Di nga ba at nang ma-evict si RJ, Yeng “cried me a river?”
We told Yeng na based on RJ’s credentials, he’s a good catch. He’s an Engineering graduate from UST.
Described by Star Records as one of their platinum artists, Yeng is expected to take the country by storm anew with her latest album, Journey.
The song, Ikaw Lang Talaga, which Yeng wrote and composed herself, is the album’s carrier single. Other songs in the CD are ’Di Na Ganon, Promise, Pili Ka Lang, Tao Lang Ako, If You Go and Habambuhay, theme song ng MMFF entry last year na Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo.
Aside from her weekly stint in ASAP on ABS-CBN, what keeps Yeng busy are provincial and international tours.
She is scheduled to perform at Robinson’s Lipa today; Robinson’s Dasmariñas, Cavite, tomorrow; SM Sta. Rosa, March 30; SM Dasmariñas, April 19; SM Lipa, April 20; SM North EDSA, April 27; SM Iloilo, May 3; and Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall, May 4.

Yeng Constantino, grand scholar of the first "Pinoy Dream Academy," admitted that RJ Jimenez, a fellow housemate, did try to woo her. But she said she discouraged RJ from pursuing his suit as she thinks she is still too young for a serious commitment. Besides, her dad, who works as an assistant librarian at the Ateneo University, is against the idea of her having a boyfriend at 19.
Ngayong naabot ko na ito, I want to make the most of it."
Star Records "platinum" artist Yeng (real name: Josefina) is keeping her fingers crossed that she will again set the country by storm with her new album, "Journey."
Some of the songs in the album are her own compositions.
The album’s carrier single is "Ikaw Lang Talaga." Other cuts in the album are "Di na Ganon," "Promise," "Pili Ka Lang," "Tao Lang Ako," "What About Us," "Himig ng Pag-ibig," "If You Go," "Bakit Nga Ba?," "Why Can’t You," "Tala" and "Habambuhay," which is the theme song of the Judy Ann Santos-Ryan Agoncillo starrer, "Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo."
Yeng is also busy with her weekly stint in "ASAP," the Sunday noontime program of ABS CBN, and her singing tour in and out of the country.

We asked Yeng if she still has a soft spot for RJ, an engineering graduate from the UST who is into singing and composing.

Yeng Constantino 'matures' in her sophomore CD
"Pinoy Dream Academy" winner Yeng Constantino serves her second album and it has gone from rock-chick to serious pop-rock.
The album credited as "Journey" features 12 tracks, eight of which Yeng penned from what she calls a "rich experience" she has had even if she just turned one year old in show business.
Only through my songs will I be able to share everything kasi ito po talaga yung craft ko."
Yeng reveals heavy acting remains a far-fetched reality.
For "Journey," Yeng, along with Star Records, went for "Ikaw Lang Talaga" as carrier single. "The song has touches of rock pero ramdam mo pa rin yung love, yung longing sa songs, iba’t-ibang emotions, the album is a journey of emotions talaga and buying this album will bring you the full, total experience."
"Journey" also includes the following titles: "Di Na Ganon," Promise," "Pili Ka Lang," "Tao Lang Ako," "What About Us," "Himig Ng Pag-Ibig," "If You Go," "Bakit Nga Ba," "Why Can’t You," "Tala," and the radio favorite theme of "Sakal Sakali Saklolo" called "Habambuhay."
Yeng also brought into the album her former band. "I reunited with them and though it would be a nice gesture to share my little success in the business with them.

- Yeng Constantino
Written by Eddie Littlefield
YENG Constantino, itinanghal na First Grand Star Dreamer ng “Pinoy Dream Academy.” Naging triple platinum agad ang debut album niya entitled “Salamat.” Super successful ang first solo concert niya last year.
Nine out of twelve songs were written by Yeng. “Music Genre of Yeng” – tipong Pop/Rock ang dating.
As much as possible, ayaw kong may kagalit.

Written by Boy Abunda
She just released her new album titled “Journey,” under Star Records. The 12-track album contains her eight original compositions.
She wowed viewers with her excellent talent in singing and writing songs during her stint in the reality talent show. Aside from Yeng’s debut album Salamat, her songs “Hawak Kamay,” “Salamat,” “Cool Off,” “If We Fall in Love,” and “Time In,” enjoyed tremenduous airplay and topped most of the radio stations’ hit charts. Last year, Yeng held a successful concert titled “Rock Enroll: Yeng Constantino’s Rock to School Concert” at the Aliw Theater.
Yeng was emotional when she said, “Nakakaiyak ‘pag iniisip mo kung paano ka nagsimula, kung gaano kahirap mag-audition, at ‘yung unti-unti kang nakakatapak sa pangarap mo.
They are busy either with their own albums or soap operas.
Kaibigan, usap tayo muli!

Nangarap at Nagtagumpay!
Written by Parazzi News Service

Yeng Constantino no longer superstitious about Good Friday
Alex Datu
Thursday, March 20, 2008
12:18 AM
NOT A PASYON SINGER.
NO BATH.

Yeng replies to ex’s song
in her new album
Which, of course, isn’t to suggest that Yeng has aged into an old hag. In fact, her face is glowing but you see it in her eyes and the way she sings on her new CD, titled Journey, that she has matured as a songwriter, singer—and subject for an interview.
You seem different since the last time I saw you. There’s now a certain maturity....
Really? I wouldn’t know about that. I’m not saying that showbiz is very taxing and that it makes you feel older but with all the different life experiences I gained since I entered the business through Pinoy Dream Academy, it has made me wiser and more mature.
Tell me about those experiences. What is the happiest one that you can relate to us since you started?
Every day is a happy experience for me. Showbiz has helped me and my family. It has opened a lot of doors for me. Doors I never even knew were there when I was starting. And the fans make it all worthwhile. They give me strength to go on.
YENG CONSTANTINO
What about the bitter experiences?
I guess it’s being the subject of rumors that aren’t true....
Let’s talk about the most recent one...that you aren’t giving your manager his deserved commission and that you are hiding from him.
That’s not true. We always remit to him his commission. I have to admit that I sometimes don’t see him because of my schedule, but it’s my father who would meet up with him if ever I can’t. In fact, I saw him just last week and everything is OK. We support each other.
Your songwriting in your new album shows a very mature and more reflective Yeng. Is it because of your breakup with fellow Pinoy Dream Academy ‘scholar’ RJ Jimenez?
It’s very painful what happened to us. I wouldn’t want to go on to the details but let’s just say that I learned a lot.
Is it true that some songs you’ve written, about breaking up and letting go of a relationship, are your answers to his songs?
(Laughs) It’s up to the listener to think and interpret what he or she wants. I just want everyone to be able to relate to the songs I’ve written. I know a lot of people were able to relate to RJ’s song (“Superstar”), so I hope everyone can relate to my songs, too.
What is the difference between Journey and your previous album?
I would like to think that this album is where you can feel my energy and my passion as a singer and as a writer. Life is a journey and this album is part of mine. I hope to continue to develop this talent that God has given me.

Yeng sings from the heart
Kaye Villagomez
Yeng Constantino admits she is used to bottling up emotions.
She rarely cries but lets the lyrics of her songs weep the loudest. Yeng made this confession in an interview during the launch of her sophomore CD "Journey" at Cibo, ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.
"I’m not comfortable with drama but I do write off all my emotions through songwriting," she said.
The Pinoy Dream Academy winner also said the song "Promise" (which is a cut off "Journey") was penned after she and rumored boyfriend RJ Jimenez decided to quit whatever feelings they were having for each other during the time they got close. It was one talk I will never forget.
Yes, medyo nagkaiyakan kasi mahirap yung pakiramdam eh."
When asked if she can completely say that she had gotten over the "feelings" (Yeng specified that they weren’t an item at the time but admitted to mutual feelings for each other), her eyes seemed to have welled up a bit and answered, "No."
Yeng wrote eight songs for the new CD with the carrier track "Ikaw Lang Talaga." "We were choosing which song should be the single and arrived at ‘Ikaw Lang Talaga.’ Siguro pang-third single pa yung ‘Promise.’"
Like the rest of her written tunes, the controversial "breakup" song was deeply personal, she said. More controversial however are the lyrics of "Promise" which opened with lines like, "Since this is what you wanted then I’ll just walk away.
You’ll have your time to think of all the things and what you need while I’m gone away. Is this really what you wanted? Then I will let you go. I’ll be keeping all my fears though I’m drowning in my tears with the thought of a life without you."
Yeng named age gap was one of the factors she and RJ weren’t able to take things between them a notch higher. "Maraming mga dahilan. Medyo serious na rin kasi siya because he was already in his mid20s." Yeng is just 19 years old.
Yeng, who has always donned the image of a rock chick, added she has never experienced being in a real relationship but that does not mean she hasn’t felt how it was like to fall in love. "This is how special this album is to me. It’s all the facets of myself now and a very different, better person that I was since nakilala ako ng mga sumusuporta sa akin."
Yeng said she is not the type of singer-songwriter who saves up songs for later records. When that time comes, Yeng is sure there’d be newer experiences to draw inspirations from.
Keeping all the rock sensibilities intact, Yeng said she seems to be peaking as far as writing songs is concerned. "I try to write off everything. Tapos pag binabalikan ko yung mga ginagawa ko noon, naiisip ko yung mga emotions ko at the time I wrote the words and it’s kind of like a journey back to my old self and I discover how much of that part I was able to retain in the same way that I learn which parts I was able to change."
Yeng named Sandwich frontman Raimund Marasigan as her rock icon. "Idol ko talaga siya. Iba yung kanta niya eh. I once had the privilege of watching them practice and admired how he puts the same energy sa jamming as on stage."
Yeng, who is Josephine Constantino in real life, was born on Dec. 4 1988. She pulled off versatility right away at 18 and took advantage of her rakista appeal to hang on to stardom post-PDA.
On her one year old showbiz career, she said she has tasted the most hurtful of write-ups but the one that really got to her was an article insinuating that her father is doing prohibited drugs. "It was most untrue at talagang nakakapikon. I’m used to anything written negatively as long as it does not involve my family. Pag kasama na sila, affected na ako."
For a more personal account of the young rock alternative artist, listen and take the "Journey" with Yeng under Star Records.

Yeng all heartbroken over RJ
Yeng Constantino admitted that she just got emotional on camera, which is why she broke into sobs last week during a guesting on the show Boy & Kris. When host Kris Aquino mentioned a song in Yeng’s second album, Journey that speaks about a message about a relationship gone wrong, the singer failed to control her emotions and tears started rolling down her cheeks.
Yeng kept very quiet about her "relationship" with former co- Pinoy Dream Academy scholar RJ Jimenez and never revealed it or confirmed it until her appearance on Boy & Kris. According to Yeng, she and RJ struck a connection and they got very close. "Totoo, nagustuhan ko siya, malungkot nga lang at di nag-work-out," said a somber Yeng. She added that although it seemed like they were getting into a commitment, the two then aspiring singers talked and decided to cut the budding relationship short. "Nagkalayo kami, at nagdecide na unahin ang career namin," RJ said during an interview with The Buzz.
Yeng however said that he and RJ remain good friends. The male singer even made an appearance in Yeng’s music video for her new single Di Na Ganon

Pera ni Yeng, nilulustay ng ama?
(REY PUMALOY)

Yeng Constantino’s journey after PDA
By: Cheekie Albay | YEHEY! In-house Production
19 March 2008 | 2:09 PM
In 2006, a cute and spunky 18-year-old rocker chick from Rizal emerged as the victor in the first season of the ABS-CBN reality talent search Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA). In the short span of time since she won the title of Grand Star Dreamer, Yeng Constantino has released triple-platinum debut album Salamat; come up with a number of hits, among them “Hawak Kamay” which also appears on the Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo soundtrack; scored big-time endorsement deals; secured a regular hosting stint at ASAP; and received numerous music awards, both as a singer and for her first hit “Hawak Kamay”. Now, this petite rakista has a new album, Journey, and it promises to be packed with more Yeng than you can handle.
Journey plays like an earnest, starry-eyed diary of the emotional rollercoaster that is teenage love, packed with songs about love, heartbreak, confusion, resignation, and longing. On the more upbeat rock-infused tracks, the influence of one of Yeng’s favorite bands Paramore is apparent. On the slower numbers, one can detect hints of Barbie Almalbis, Kitchie Nadal, Paramita, and even Liz Phair. Journey contains 12 tracks, eight of which Yeng wrote herself or with her band Morning Glory.
Yeng is pleased with this latest studio release because she has more input in this album than she did in Salamat. “Gulatan yung first album, one week lang namin ginawa.
Yeng has been with her band Morning Glory since high school, back when she had no stardom to speak of and she (gasp!) still lost band competitions. She expresses hope that she’d get to share the recording studio with her band for her third album. Despite her celebrity status, Yeng has remained close with her bandmates and is excited at each milestone she achieves with them. Sobra. First time yun eh na na-televise kami,” she gushes.
Yeng believes that she has grown up both personally and professionally since her PDA days, and this can be heard on Journey.
At only nineteen years old, Yeng has proven herself a commendable songwriter, scoring a number one hit with “Hawak Kamay” even before she was out of the PDA house. Compared to other celebrities who attempt to launch a singing career, Yeng at least has the talent and creativity to write her own stuff and not rely on composers to do the job for her. Mahal kasi sila,” she quips. On a more serious note, she explains, “Mas maganda kung mas honest yung kinakanta mo sayo. Mas naiinitindihan kasi [ng listeners].”
And because she has exerted so much effort in nurturing her budding career, Yeng is hopeful that she won’t be pushed entirely out of the picture once the next season of PDA comes round and a new batch of rising talents is groomed for stardom. Kasi I had my time. Sobrang hinirapan ko ‘to para pabayaan,” she declares. Incidentally, she is set to host the second season of PDA, so expect that Yeng won’t be out of entertainment circulation anytime soon.
This sensible take on the short-lived fame that comes from a reality show victory hints at a greater depth of emotional maturity in the young celebrity. Another example of this maturity is her eventual liberation from her self-imposed stereotype of what a rocker should be. Yeng relates how dead-set she was on being a tough rakista when she was younger, abhorring the cutesy, the weak, the melodramatic, and other characteristics commonly associated with the female of the species. And today, dressed like a modern-day punk in a cool black shirt, tight jeans, black sneakers, and a studded black leather wristband, it seems like she is no different. But wouldn’t you know? This rocker chick actually admits to having an immense collection of stuffed toys at home. And a growing collection at that. Clearly, beneath the tough exterior lies an unabashed softie.
As long as Yeng stays true to the carefree spirit that has endeared her to the Pinoy public, rockers and jologs alike, a little girlishness won’t hurt. Keep rocking, Yeng.

Yeng writes sob song about RJ
Yeng Constantino agreed with RJ Jimenez to stop their special relationship once they were out of the Pinoy Dream Academy. He wanted to pursue their special friendship that had been cut short when he was voted out of the Academy. But Yeng’s priorities have changed. She wants to focus on her new entertainment career. She knew this was the right thing to do as she would not have the time for him if they got more serious. This separation hurt Yeng a lot, and it gave her the motive to write a song. This song, “Promise,” is one of the tracks off her second 12-cut CD entitled Journey produced by Jon Ilagan for Star Records. She sings, “But if someday you’ll need a friend/I promise I won’t let you down/I’ll be there for you/Right there beside you/I promise.”
Yeng sings more mature songs in Journey, her style more sophisticated than her debut album but managing not to stray too far from her original style. It’s progress! It opens with a surprising slow number in “‘Di Na Ganun,” a reflective number about loss and acceptance. She does a fast one in “Ikaw Lang Talaga,” her band blasting away. “Promise” follows, the best track in this new collection for its honesty of emotion and organic arrangement. “Pili Ka Lang” is about life’s choices and picking them up. Other tracks are “Tao Lang Ako,” “What About Us,” “Himig ng Pag-ibig,” “Bakit Nga Ba,” “If You Go,” “Why Can’t You Go,” “Tala” and “Habambuhay.” Journey is now available in music stores worlwide.
Catch Yeng when she promotes Journey at SM Sta. Rosa on March 30, SM Dasmarinas on April 19, SM Lipa on April 20, SM North EDSA on April 27, SM Iloilo on May 3 and Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall on May 4.

Singer Yeng Constantino moves on after breakup
BY REYMA BUAN-DEVEZA
abs-cbnNEWS.com
Pinoy Dream Academy grand winner Yeng Constantino said she is still mending her broken heart after a breakup, but affirmed that she is now moving on with her life.
"I think I'm okay now. I'm not going to say that I'm happy but I'm moving on because you see... I'm strong," Constantino exclusively told abs-cbnNEWS.com.
Constantino's statement stemmed from reports of her sudden breakup with her off-screen parter and former PDA scholar RJ Jimenez, that she first revealed during an interview with hosts Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino in their daily morning program Boy & Kris.
After the recent split up Constantino revealed she is still feeling the pain, but is certain that she is now stronger than ever.
"I think this is just part of growing up and I believe that I have to experience all those things, and I think it's okay," the nineteen-year-old singer-composer said.
Constantino admitted that "technically" Jimenez was her first love, which is why she cried when they decided to part ways.
"For me it's really painful, I don't know but it's something like that," she said.
When asked if she is ready to share the exact reason behind the breakup, Constantino replied, "It's just like that. We'd been very busy, we are attending to a lot of things. You see before as in everyday we were together inside the PDA and you cannot help but to feel affection."
The singer recalled that her special feeling for Jimenez grew while they were still inside the academy and continued after they stepped out of the academy.
"I'm not gonna deny it, I really like RJ becaue he is so kind."
According to Constantino she last saw Jimenez during a rehearsal of the weekly show ASAP '08 but they did not even talk.
Now, the artist has decided not to entertain suitors and to just concentrate on her work.
"No dating. I will just focus on my career, my family. I really need to help my family not just my mother or father but as well as my lola and my other relatives."
Constantino has shown her versatility by singing with a rocker image, and by her love of writing and composing original songs.
She is the brain and voice behind the hit song "Hawak Kamay" that won the Best Theme Song at the Metro Manila Film Festival. The song was used by Star Cinema's film "Kasal Kasali Kasalo" as its official theme.
She already launched her debut album called "Salamat", and just recently she launched her album entitled "Journey."
Currently, Constantino is a regular performer at ABS-CBN's weekly variety show "ASAP '08 and is busy promoting her latest album through out-of-town shows.
Catch her as she performs live with her band in Sta. Rosa, Laguna this Saturday, May 29 and May 1 in the City of Smiles, Bacolod City.

Rating reality TV stars
Nestor Cuartero
REALITY SHOW discovery Yeng Constantino is aware at how some industry people refer to products of such programs as mere flash in the pan.
While the observation may be true in the case of some, it is not necessarily so with Yeng’s. ‘I’m not going to throw away this great break without giving it my best shot,’ she swears.
Yeng won the grand championship in the first ‘Pinoy Dream Academy,’ where her signature song, ‘Hawak Kamay,’ debuted. The song has become an anthem among young people.
With her second album, released recently by Star Records, Yeng hopes to soar higher with new compositions. The line-up is topped off by ‘Habambuhay,’ the theme from the movie festival hit, ‘Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo,’ and originals like ‘Ikaw Lang Talaga,’ ‘Tao Lang Ako,’ and ‘Himig ng Pag-ibig,’ among others.
Yeng can use fully her songwriting skills, an edge over other reality show survivors, to last in show business. Prioritizing her interests is also a must. Yeng seems to know where her talent is strongest, which is why, she sticks to music-making.
Homely and plain as they come, Yeng is gifted, however, with a wellspring of melodies, and poetry to match, that can see her through more years as a talent in the music business.

Yeng Constantino continues with her "Journey"
Ernie Enrile
Sunday, June 1, 2008
10:26 AM
Broken-hearted daw ngayon ang Pinoy Dream Academy first Grand Scholar, Yeng Constantino, at pahinga daw muna ngayon ang kanyang puso habang naka-focus siya sa kanyang singing career. As a matter of fact, busy ngayon si Yeng sa pagpo-promote ng kanyang latest album under Star Records titled Journey.
Ayon kay Yeng, out of 12 tracks sa said album, walo ang sarili niyang compositions.
Ang iba pang awitin sa said Journey album ni Yeng ay ang mga sumusunod; "Di Na Ganun," "Promise," "Pili Na Lang," "Tao Lang Ako," "What About Us," "Himig Ng Pagibig," "Bakit Nga Ba," "If You Go," "Why Can't You," "Tala," at "Habambuhay."

“
It Started With A Kiss.
All these and more from Yeng’s Journey album.

TFC brings Yeng Constantino to Dubai
